Well I wrote an article a bit of a ways back, actually back in January, about what I learned from my 100,000 Ezine Articles views.

Well now I am at 200,000 views on Ezine Articles and thought I would update on what I think are important points on getting seen and what the traffic is worth.

Here are the top level stats on my 200,000 article views 2,404 published by other webmasters and 5749 clickthroughs to my sites, this works out to 5.7% which I think is good but has a lot more room to improve.

I have to be happy with all of that “free” traffic that is for sure.

As far as number of articles goes, it took me 138 articles to get 100,000 but only another 83 articles to get the next 100,000, this is due to me getting a lot of traffic still from the first articles. Gotta like the residual traffic that just won’t quit!

So now that I have gotten comfortable with how to analyze my traffic I need to look back at what works and what I can do to improve traffic and conversions from Ezine Articles in the future.

Concentrate on keyword based headlines – This should help me get more focussed traffic to the articles. People that want to buy are looking for products not ideas. Better to try to sell a “red 2008 Corvette” instead of just “some car with 4 wheels”.

Keep articles short – 300-400 word articles are going to catch people and be focussed on a subject as opposed to trying to explain everything and give the reader no reason to move on to the bio box and click back to your site.

Leave something unexplained – When you write an article you wnat ot leave something unanswered. By doing this you can give the reader a reason to go to “part 2″ in the bio box which will get them to your site.
