If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!
When you look at the sites that you go to on a daily basis or the RSS feeds that you read you may notice that the most popular bloggers are more then words on a page. no the top bloggers are real people and that reflects in everything that they write.
There is now although there probably always was an interest in people. It is often said that the most read part of newspapers is the opinions section. The reason thath this is interesting to people is becasue where in a paper you only have stories with facts in the opinion or editorials section of a paper you actually get the passion that individuals have instead.
So read through some of your favorite bloggers and see what they say and how they say it. Darren at Problogger seems to be a friendly family guy that enjoys photography. Jeremy at Shoemoney is always stirring the pot. Robert Scoble is interested in technology and gets to do a lot of photography but is still not to much of a geek so you can still stay interested in what he has to say.
John Reese gives us a great example of just opening up and saying what he thinks is right from a marketers opinion. Being on Twitter a lot of people follow John Reese and he once posted on there to watch your message, then after Mashable mocked him he retaliated and now on the eve of Traffic Secrets he has a goofy picture on Twitpics that makes him look like just another guy that we can all relate to. All of these are different aspects building an online persona.
So sure you can have opinions but it is even better to build your entire self out to the internet. What are your strengths, weaknesses, personal ticks, how do you think? What do you do? The internet is about so much more than facts, in this day it is more important to stand out by laying out who you are as a person.
Start to build yourself up and your readers will have a much better time following you because they will read from your voice instead of their own.

I love the ideas behind the law of attraction. When I heard about the moie “The Secret” last year I thought it was great, watched it a couple of times and read the book. Later I saw that there were some people really against The Secret and the Law of Attraction. I know the idea, people see this idea that you just wish for something, really wish and it comes true. sounds like crap. I agree that wishful thinking is crap.
The way that The Secret and the law of Attraction works the way that I look at it is that once you set a priority basically your energy and actions go toward fulfilling that priority. No magic.
If I say that my goal is to make $300 per day then I have two choices. First, I could hope and wish that I get to $300 a day, maybe even make a plan for how to do it. Second I can jump at doing everything that I can to build a $300 a day business.
Lastly I could do both of the above.
1. Set the goal
2. Look at my skills now and what are needed to reach the $300 per day goal. Also a good idea to see my weaknesses, the last thing I need is to get half way through my plan and realize I am missing critical skills that I can not pick up.
3. Create a plan to get to the $300 (would it be one business plan/model or more?)
4. Buld the steps of the plan completely
5. Execute
Now that we look at the Law of Attraction in detail by having a plan instead of some mystic background magic it seems to make more sense. If you have The Secret book and did not take it seriously, try again and see if there is more to it than you thought before.

Charles Heflin and the guys at SEO 20/20 have done a great job at building verticals and siloing sites and even though I can not afford at this point ot join the SEO 20/20 program, these guys have come out with a great teaser of info with about everything that you need to know to build up a real strategy with social media and everything else that we call web 2.0.

Last year I bought a long MP3 of a two hour interview that Russell Brunson did with a guy that made something like 10 million dollars from magazine and TV advertising for a male enhancement product. I was not interested in the product or even the ads but more about the process of building a giant business and the interview was fantastic.
Well Russell Brunson has a new Affiliate program training system???????? ????? ???????? and this one is only $10. I just bought it and it is long and really great. I just wanted to pass on the tip for anyone interested.

I am right now listening to a great social networking call. Free call and it is 81minutes long. This is a call done by Michelle Macphearson talking to Alejandro Reyes where she talks to another guy (missed his name) and he is talking about how to add more contacts in social networks and how to make these connections work. Also they are talking a lot about how we as marketers should not be selling and selling on these social networks.
They talk a bit about garyvee, one of the top guys on twitter. Gary Vaynerchuk has a wine site and book but does not spend all of his time pusing it but definitely gets a lot of sales thanks to his attitude and support on Twitter and the users of Twitter.

I just found a cool ebook on Twitter that you can sign up to a list and recieve free of charge. It is really cool and called the Internet Marketing Cure. The internet marketing cure is a book that turns that whole internet marketing guru thing around.
The book goes into a lot of detail about how we follow around all of these gurus and don’t become dorus, the gurus that actually do the work. It is a real nice way for you to look at what you are doing and what you should be doing instead. I am the worst for this as I spend a lot of time just reading rss feeds, following conversations on Twitter and wasting lots of time surfing for new ideas instad of actually doing what mattered.
Check out the free ebook and see what you think.

I just read an article on Problogger about a fellows bad experience moving from Movable Type to Wordpress. The problem was not the data move but the names of the posts.
Last fall I moved nearly all of my blogs from Movable Type to Wordpress and it did go fairly smoothly although I did have a bit of a problem and have some ideas on making the process easier. Here are the steps.
Create a new folder for your new blog and create the wordpress blog
In this step you will just be going and creating the title of the blog and the permalink structure that you have on the old blog. Thei mportance of this is that when people go from the old location to the new location you do not want anything to break. Google is not very smart for finding your new post names when you break the permalink structure.
The other thing that may happen is that you may be moving a blog from one domain name to another, in this case you will be doing a 301 redirect so that people and search engines and incoming links can still find your content even with a new name of your domain. I did exactly this with three of my blogs. Read the rest of this entry »

There have been lots of articles I think written about what we as internet marketers should be doing every day to build a business.
First of all you have to look at what your goal for the day is. do you want to create new income streams or do you want to enhance the reach of your current sites and income streams.
I think that your most important daily priority or one of them at least is to do product reviews.
Product Reviews
A product review is not much different then a blog post, I actually create my product review as a kind of blog post. At the minumum you would be able to post and say
“This product is great, go buy it”
Well that is not good enough in almost any case there is in fact a few steps in the affiliate review process. Here are the steps.
Find a problem
Let the reader relate to your vies
Get the reader to see your solution
Explain your solution
promote and link over to your solution
