Brainstorming tonight

Tonight I was not all about posting content or working to build links or anything else online. Tonight instead I finished a big plan on what I need to be focusing on. I am not sure if you are the same but I run into great ideas all of the time and haphazardly implement stuff either completely or not quite completly.

I have lots of stuff hanging out there that I need to finish.

So a couple of nights ago I got a big roll of paper and shopped a piece off and started to write on this in section exactly what I need to focus on and what I need to finish. This is probably worth a lot to me and to you to so I have decided to make a list in this post of what went on the big 18 inch by 33 inch piece of paper.

The sheet is broken into four vertical sections.

In the first section is pages and sites to work on. I wrote down the seven sites I want to focus my time on and then made a list of the reviews/sales pages that are contained in those (15 pages all together).

The second section is just a sales funnel Visitor–>Sales Page–>Sale–>Backend. Within this section I wrote down important stuff to track and improve, things like buyer motivations, conversion ratios to improve, where to get traffic and what to use as a backend.

The third section is just traffic strategies. I find that I hop from one source of traffic to another and so I made a big list of ways to build links and then another list of Web 2.0 sources that I need to improve my relationships in, things like Twitter, MySpace, Digg, Stumbleupon and others. I will be improving on these sections.

Finally in the fourth section I started my big todo list. This is a list of the 13 most high leverage actions that I need to start taking to really build some velocity in my business and within my sites. For example improving things like enhancing and creating more autoresponders, creating a way to sell all of the content I have not yet monetized on my machine, product placement, improvements to sales pages, and outsourcing content creation.

Nothing on my big paper list is new to me but it is nice to have something tacked up over my computer so that in those idle times when I am just surfing sites I can actually instead have a plan and parts of my business that I can actually improve on.

I have no idea why it has taken me so long to get this information up but all of the stuff on here is great to get me going.

Great post, I too often have so many ideas and so much going on and I often have not completed what I started, I had to tighten the reigns on this bad practice and stick to a plan!
    Thanks

Absolutelt brilliant post! Using regular brainstorming sessions that lead to detailed to-do lists is a vital ingredient in how I stay organized and focused when it comes to growing my online business.

As you say, having a plan is so helpful (and motivating!)
