I have created a couple of stnadalone websites for Calgary Real Estate. This particular site is based on the idea that if you would like a special report then you will fill out a form to recieve this information.
Using an example of a Home Buyer Mistakes you can see that the page is fairly generic but is focused on Calgary Real Estate. The page itself is just a classic landing page. It contains some interesting ideas on why you have a need and then to fill the need you fill our the form to get a special report.
Pages like this if they can rank organically convert great because they will be feeding right into the search term that you visitor was looking for. In the case of this page it is only drawing so far from Google Adwords and is an OK concerter.
I have a couple of things that I have added to this page to try to capture the email address of the visitor.
- First of all I have added a popup that comes into the page when you land there. This kind of popup is not very well liked by most people but is a great tool to use as it converts quite well.
- The second thing that I have done is to make the fields for phone number and name mandatory on the on page form by adding a piece of code to the form:

I am sure that you could think of a lot of reasons to put up a site like this that answers a bit of all of your visitors questions while at the same time gives a reason to capture name and email addresses to build a list.
