I mentioned over the last few days about how I have built 85 or so websites and most of them are not making much money.

I have also mentioned that I am going to open up about what I am doing and how to try to show how I am going to make 100,000 dollars in 2008 (the number is still looking really big to me).

Well here is a live example of exactly how I built a new site yesterday.

http://stop-smoking.fitnesstipsforlife.com

I have been building subdomains to my main domains for at least a couple of years and did this again yesterday. I got an email that I could buy some non smoking articles for $4.95. Now I know that $4.95 for 26 articles sounds cheap but this seemed to be a good niche to go after and was related to the whole fitness tips site in a way and it is getting close to new years eve.

So I bought the articles and after downloading did a search of Google for some text and found that these were indeed new articles with no copies indexed my Google yet. The articles are not very good and keyword sparse but anyway this is what I did.

1. Created the subdomain – I chose stop-smoking because it was keyword rich and should be good if it ranked in Google, the page is a review page with affiliate links so I am not sure that Google will index it bery high for any competitive keywords

2. Created an autoresponder series – I create a 10 day autoresponder sending out messages every day and just used some of the articles for the series. I have not yet optimized the articles for pointing back to the review site yet.

3. Created a review page with related stop smoking products – I used to belong to the Wealthy Affiliate so I had a couple of review templates from there that I just redid reviews for the stop smoking products to. I found products from Clickbank as well as Joebucks (Joe Bucks has been really good to me this year for affiliate sales)

4.  Added a popup on the review page for people to sign up for the autoresponder – I use Get Response for my Autoresponder and they are fantastic for creating a simple popup that will just go over the page as a signup form for an autoresponder

5. Dumped a couple of the articles to lots of article directories – I have a free article posting program, actually it is article submitter and I got it as a bonus somewhere last year. I just plugged in the articles and titles and keywords and let it post a couple of articles around the article directories.

Well so far I have not had any traffic. I have not yet posted this page into my Google Analytics to see how well it is doing but I think that I have done the bulk of the stuff. All of these things together should make this page perform well over the next few weeks although I believe that I will still have to start hitting the social bookmarking sites…I may wait until New Years  day to do that though.

No that I have shared all this, does anyone have anything to add? Do you like the review page? Did I miss any steps?
