Increasing earnings in February

I have been mulling over the last week how exactly I will increase my earnings from $2,000 in January and have a few good ideas that I expect will work but will of course take a lot of change on my part.

There are two keys to my making more money online in February and it is the same for any online business; get more pageviews and increase conversion rates. This is no secret but often people, especially people like me, get distracted by shiny things on the internet and go off focus and do a lot of non revenue producing work.

Increasing Pageviews

Increasing pageviews should not be too difficult. I had a pretty good month in January with 72,000 pageviews or so and the way I generally increase my pageviews is by creating content within all of my niches and by submitting articles to article sites, especially ezinearticles.

I try to post to one of my blogs every day but on the others I tend to post once a week or so on average and on a few I have not posted more than two posts in the last few months, that needs to change and here is how I will do it. What I need is ideas for posts, if I have ideas I can tend to ramble off a few good posts really quickly and using WordPress, really easily. I am going to be using the SEO Book a lot more this month, not just for the great content and ideas on link building but also so that I can use that great Keyword Tool. I tend to just post stuff about whatever comes to mind but if you can look at popular keywords in your industry then it makes things a lot easier as you have words to craft posts around and subjects that people really are interested in. I will be focussing 30 minutes or so a day to getting good keywords to write about.

Articles for Linkbacks

As for articles, this month I will be trying to split my writing, one post for the blog, one post for ezinearticles. Ezinearticles works well for getting some traffic but to me more importantly I get a lot of links from people grabbing my articles and reposting them with the links to their blogs. I have lots of links out there and the important thing to remember is that you will probably not get a lot of clickthroughs from other blogs to your articles (unless a big blogger picks it up) but Google will like you a little more and rank you higher.

The next thing to do is increasing conversion rates. I have actually thought of a couple of methods that I will be using and have already started using to increase conversion rates.

More Better Reviews

I want to average a review a day across my blogs to a product that pays me. What this means is that I find a product that is interesting to me, do some keyword research, write a good balanced review, and then after posting get links and traffic from submitting articles and blog posts to point to the review. This gives me more content and more links to products and is already starting to jumpstart my creativity. As I have posted before the bulk of my affiliate money comes from Clickbank and JoeBucks although I am starting to look at Linkshare and am considering Amazon.

Focus on Core Products

In every niche there are core products and supporting products. I have core products that I have reviewed and set up links and made money on affiliate traffic but some of my niches have not been fleshed out yet. I hope that this is going tobe a good month for me to solidify some more varied traffic and income.

One of the things that many people to not realize no matter how many times they hear it is that to make one or two sales for a product can be very difficult but once everything is setup correctly and the work has been done it is fairly easy to go to a few sales a day, a few sales a day is easy enough to live on at $25 per commission. So I think I just have not finished the work needed in a few niches.

Adsense for Dummies

I am not sure about Adsense. Adsense has made me money for a couple of years, a couple hundred or so a month probably but I always worry about making 10 or 20 cents a visitor while giving away the $20 I could have made. If I am losing 20-50 people a day what am I really losing? I could increase revenue by really optimizing my Adsense everywhere or I could get rid of it altogether…Not this month, I will decide next month.

Well this has been a good 20 minutes of so of rambling for me, I sure wish I typed 80 words a minute like my wife, but I have got a bit more clarity just from typing to the internet. I sure hope that You have had a chance here to learn some ideas that will help your business better.
