An internet marketing journal is a great way to keep track of ideas that oyu have for your internet marketing business.
When I become overwhelmed with ideas and plans and even just blog posts ideas I will dump them all into a big list. At one point last year got myself a new Mead Five Star ringed notebook and started writing down all of the things that I had to get done in my internet marketing business as well as some of the processes that I was just starting to get into place.
After a couple of days of writing down ideas as they fell out of my brain I had a list of about 50 site, SEO and mass marketing ideas and another list of 50 or so blog post ideas.
When I look back now at this list I can see that I implemented about half of each of the lists and the other half were just crap. I think that this is a great method so I want to just get down a list of what is important in these lists.
Go to the store right now and buy a spiral bound journal separated into three or five sections by a thin piece of cardboard….it’s OK I will wait. This internet marketing journal will really change your life, I guarantee it.
Internet Marketing Processes
There are a lot of processes that you can come up with. Sales processes, article marketing processes, social media posting processes, forum and blog posting processes. These can all be articulated with a page to themselves and then you can expand on them before you create a project plan or a spreadsheet to help you automate.
Blog posting ideas
This is probably just a point form type of list where you can break down all of your ideas for pages or posts and then add some detail. Often I will write a post just with a thought and upload right away but it is so much easier to have a bunch of ideas written down and then expand them as a post and then do a final edit even later before you post. You can take this book around with you and come up with dozens of ideas that oyu would just never think of in front of the computer.
SEO or site optimization ideas
Often when you are online you will go though forums or blog posts and get 10 or 15 ideas in just a few minutes of thiungs that you can do to all of your sites. It is impossible to do all of these things as you see them and especially to do these things to every site you have so go ahead and write them down.
Once a week you can sit down for site optimization time or SEO time and implement a bunch of changes to each site in a row and make a lot of great changes all at once. I find if you try to just do one thing at a time that it takes forever but this automation will let you get more done quickly and easily.
Other internet marketing ideas
This is a catch all section to cover off template ideas, great site ideas, ideas for new sites to build and the great thing is this is all done away from the computer so that you do not get distracted by the next great Google search. Maybe you want to get into pay per click and find some great keywords for local or you see that there is a hole in a particular market for a blog or messageboard or even a membership site of some kind.
This internet marketing journal you will find within just a few days is a good chance to dump everything that you have been thinking about. The great thing about having a book like this is that often I find that I will think about a couple of things for a few days and just kind of let them simmer in by brain. If I write these things down then I can right away expand on them, make movement or action on the items and move on. This allows you to have your mind have new things to latch onto and build your business faster.
