One of the grand strategies that I ahve been using lately ahs been to follow related people on Twitter and then unfollow the ones that do not follow me back.
The best way to find your target market on twitter is to find other people that are very popular in your industry, follow the people that are following them and then wait a week and unfollow.
Here is an example. Lets say that you are in the self help niche. I think that probably the most popular person in that niche would have to be Tony Robbins.
So you go to Tony’s twitter account and start following his followers. Seems easy right?
- With a profile picture
- That have tweeted in the last 7 days
- With at least 100 followers
- With a follow ratio of less than 150%
Just using these simple filters will make the people that you are following much higher quality. And it is all from the Tweepi interface.
What I would do before (this feature is now gone from Tweepi) is to Flush my Unfollowers” this simply means that if people were not following me back after 7 days then I would expect they were not going to follow me so I would dump them.
I just found another tool that will allow me to unfollow non-followers on Twitter and that is ManageFlitter. Of course I would not want to unfollow those people for at least a few days and I have noticed that you can sort your unfollowers by date that you followed them.
Trouble with these services like any others is that there are limits. If you want to reduce the limitations with either tool you can pay $7 a month or so for an account.
